Therapeutic Approach

I strive to make the therapeutic space a calm, safe, judgement-free zone. Our time together is your time; as your therapist, I am there to help facilitate growth and change while you, as the client, are the director of your own therapeutic journey. Our time together is dedicated solely to you and the therapeutic work we commit to together.

I approach counseling from a Relational (client- or person-centered) perspective where I lead therapy sessions with empathy and demonstrate a sincere and unconditional positive regard for each and every one of my clients. I believe that every individual is inherently good and that we all have the capacity for self-driven change. Informed by both my personal and professional life, I believe an individual’s experience in therapy and/or their experience of the therapeutic relationship can be healing in and of itself. Seeking out professional help is never an easy task and takes both courage and humility. I commend you for taking the steps to get the help you need and I welcome you to your journey of healing; I’m honored to be even a small part of it.

Specializations and Interests

I have experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages, in community mental health, the judicial system, and private practice. I have experience working with clients dealing with depression, gender identity, sexual identity, trauma and PTSD, interpersonal/relationship issues, suicidal ideation and self-harm, adjustment issues, anxiety, as well as clients experiencing active crisis, domestic, physical, emotional, verbal, and/or sexual abuse. I work with clients through a trauma and reality lens, which allows me to meet the client where they’re at.
